08xx numbers are classic ’first contact’ numbers, designed to attract new business, create a solidly professional impression, maximise advertising response, and give a ’national presence’.

0800 numbers will allow your customers and prospective customers to call you at no cost to them.  There is widespread public recognition of the 0800 number as a ’freephone’ number.  You pick up the cost of the inbound call, if called from a UK landline, promoting customer loyalty and encouraging potential customers to call.  Experience has shown that an advert using an 0800 number will significantly increase the number of sales calls generated.

0845 numbers are used if you would like customers to call from all over the UK, but only paying the cost of a local rate call.  We then divert this number to your business telephone number and you will be charged less than the cost of a local call to receive it.

0845 numbers can give you a national rather than local presence.  The same number can follow you to anywhere in the UK - you do not need to change your contact number even if you move. This can be a huge saving on re-printing headed paper and business cards, also making sure no sales will be lost during a move.

 
0870 / 0871 - UK National Rate

0870 / 0871 numbers are perfect for applications like customer support or ordering lines, where a national presence can be important but you don’t want to subsidise the cost of incoming calls. They are not ideal for competitive marketing situations, but create the impression of a nationwide efficient operation.  The caller pays the cost of a national rate call, but you get a rebate of upto 2p per minute on every call you receive.  In this way, given enough call traffic, the 0870 numbers can pay for themselves.
