Siemens HiPath 8000 is a native SIP-based softswitch that provides large to very large enterprises with enterprise-class communications features, next generation presence-based collaboration and communications solutions, and the reliability of a carrier-class system. With the ability to place 300 to 100,000 users on a single system, the system is based on a hosted, Web-services communication architecture making it easy to deploy and manage communications from a single site. Compared to the complexities associated with deploying first generation IP systems (1gIP) in very large enterprises, the HiPath 8000 system delivers a unified management and application domain and reduces the system, management, and application costs usually required to deploy enterprise communications.

The data center oriented solution can be deployed in a self-hosted enterprise environment, as a managed service, or through a service provider.
