HiPath
5000
Enterprise Softswitch for medium-sized
enterprises
HiPath 5000 is an IT/ Data Centre based communications solution for medium-sized
enterprises. Its distributed architecture connects up to 1,000 users at
up to 32 locations to a homogeneous IP communications network. The latest
release of HiPath 5000 opens up the world of Open Communications to users
through the integration of SIP, the Session Initiation Protocol. SIP enables
companies to take advantage of the next generation of carrier interfaces
which promise to significantly lower the cost of calls.
The Softswitch runs on Windows 2000 / 2003 servers and can be fully integrated
in your company’s IT environment. This means that only one network
needs to be managed for IP telephony and business applications, considerably
reducing administration costs. HiPath 5000 is also available on a “fault-tolerant”
platform for further resilience and survivability. Centrally managed but
distributed functions, such as teleworking and attendant consoles allow
operating costs and call charges to be reduced. The HiPath 5000 can be easily
expanded to include as many additional users as necessary. You can, however,
also expand existing HiPath 3000 systems to become fully integrated gateways
in a HiPath 5000 solution.
Scaleable from 10 to 1000 users, the HiPath 5000 is also a perfect platform
for distributed applications such as Contact Centre and Unified Communications
solutions. The full range of traditional telephony features are avavailable
with this softswitch, and a wide range of IP workpoints, including the award-winning
OpenStage range, make access to these productivity enhancing features, childs-play.
HiPath 5000
HiPath 5000 from Siemens offers feature-rich telephony and IP communications
in one flexible, reliable and cost-effective solution.
The solution is designed to meet the needs of demanding medium-sized companies.
It offers a flexible and scaleable approach so you can mix and match a vast
range of applications and features, depending on your unique business requirements.
Applications like call centre routing can operate with agents distributed
across multiple sites – so you can make the most of your in house skills.
You can use Voice-over-IP capabilities to network sites and connect remote
users to your head office or opt for the new SIP services being offered by
carriers to further drive down communication costs. The data-centre approach
means that the total solution can be managed from one central location with
interfaces that are familiar and simple for IT staff to operate.
When it comes to selecting telephony devices, HiPath 5000 offers one of the
broadest ranges of phones available – ensuring that your company’s
needs are met. Whether using OptiClient 130 as a PC softphone for Tweleworkers,
or using OptiPoint WL2 wireless devices for on-site mobility, users still
have access to both central applications and local features.
HiPath 5000 customers can anticipate a number of important benefits, including:
Lower operating costs – this is achieved by delivering telephony services
to multiple sites from one central system. No longer is there a requirement
for local network access, all can be consolidated centrally. Up to two thirds
of your existing network costs can also be saved if you swap to SIP network
connections.
Equipment and support costs are also reduced by centralizing services such
as network management, messaging and contact centres. Local attendants and
answer machines become redundant whilst spare capacity is now reduced and
pooled throughout the network.
Improved customer satisfaction – Clients benefit from improved rates
of first call resolution as HiPath 5000 makes it easier to get support from
staff at different locations.
For businesses that rely on voice communications. HiPath 5000 offers a particularly
high degree of reliability and failure tolerance. The use of independent
gateways results in a largely failure-tolerance solution. This means that
communications are always maintained, even if the corporate IP network is
disrupted.
